Research Funding for Teaching and Learning

There are a variety of funding sources available to support your work in teaching and learning. These include:

UNSW Vice-Chancellor's Teaching and Learning Awards

These awards are granted annually and focus on a high-priority area for learning and teaching at UNSW. The theme for 2007-2008 will be Assessment.

UNSW Vice-Chancellor's Teaching and Research Awards

These awards seek to assist early career academics who wish to dedicate more time to teaching and learning but are restricted by the need to also meet research-based outcomes.

The Carrick Institute

The Federal Government funded Carrick Institute for Learning and Teaching in Higher Education has a range of funding opportunities contained in four programs. They are:

1. Competitive Grants Program
2. Priority Projects Program
3. Leadership for Excellence in Learning and Teaching
4. Discipline-based Initiatives Scheme

Fellowship Schemes

As well as the competitive grant schemes there are a number of fellowship schemes available. Some are available to both academic and general staff. These include:

  1. UNSW Innovative Teaching and Education Technology Fellowship (ITET)
  2. Carrick Institute Fellowship Scheme
  3. Universitas21 Fellowship Program
  4. Higher Education Research and Development Society of Australia (HERDSA) Fellowship
